Team Building

Team Building: Billions of dollars are lost every year in American businesses due to counter productive staff behaviors - conflicts between staff, staff and management, and between managers. Annual MBTI Team Building Workshops are the most effective way to foster healthy company communications to help everyone except each other for who they are and not their expectations of what they they think others should be. Based on our personality type, we all bring different gifts to the team; however, without basic training on personality type, it can be hard to understand why others do what they do differently from ourselves. When teams discover or reconnect with their type in a team building workshop, all have a new level of respect for each other and their differences.

Team Building Workshop Process

Step One - RFP Process: We engage our clients by responding to a Request For Proposal (RFP). Every client and situation is different. We work under time and materials as well as lump sum contracts. It all starts with a phone call. We do not respond to “What’s your price emails.” We need to know and understand your unique situation and conditions.

Step Two - Introduction & Orientation Letter/Email: We work with management in editing our standard team building Introduction and Orientation letter/email announcing the date, time, and location for our team building workshop. This letter gives instructions on how to take the MBTI instrument. This letter explains the best mindset to be in when taking the MBTI®, explains that MBTI only measures the four dichotomies that makeup your MBTI four letter type and that it does not have anything to do with IQ or mental health. Finally, this letter reviews ethics associated with the use and application of the MBTI with in an organization.

Step Three - Pre-Workshop Administration: The MBTI Instruments and manuals for workshop facilitation are to be purchased as apart of the initial engagement process with the Strategic Path Group. Once purchased, staff and management can commence taking the MBTI online. Once an instrument is completed, we then print it out and bind it so we can hand it to the workshop participant after they have self selected their type. As apart of our agreement and MBTI ethics, we are available to answer any questions and address any concerns that a workshop participant may have about the MBTI and/or the team building workshop. Reported type information is private to the individual.

Team Building Facilitation

ITT ManualITT & TeamsStep Four - Team Building Workshop: This workshop has a five-part format: (1) Introduction to the MBTI and how it is used in building teams. (2) MBTI type self-selection. (3) Reported type and type validation process. (4) The House of Type exercise where everyone eventually divides into their four letter type groups and then develops and presents a short presentation of what it’s like to be their type. (5) An open discussion on how type can be used at work to improves communications and teamwork. Presented to each participant in this workshop is an Introduction To Type Manual and an Introduction To Type and Teams Manual. One of the optional reports that can be generated for this workshop is a MBTI® Teams Report for each participant, which profiles the entire team with specific suggestions on the individual can more effective work within his or her team.

Step Five - Post-Workshop Administration: We again by agreement and MBTI Ethics, make ourselves available to respond to any questions and concerns arising from our team building workshop. Via email, we will send a PDF copy of the participants report(s). We, at this time will make any recommendation for future workshops based on the results and success for our MBTI Building Workshop. Know that MBTI reports can only be shared with the individual and copies cannot be shared with the organization or others without the permission of the individual.

ITT & CoachingStep Six - Post Workshop Debriefing & Introduction To Type & Coaching: This is an optional step; however, a highly recommended step. Now that management knows their team’s MBTI type, via the workshop, not the MBTI Type Reports, management can now use this knowledge to more effectively coach and lead each member of their team. Each type has preferred ways that they like to receive instruction, orders, suggestions, and/or recommendations. Mastering the art of coaching using Type gives management and staff the opportunity to be more effective and greatly reduces the possibilities for conflict. Step Five is an additional half-day workshop for the same group or just managers.

Facilitating MBTI Team Building workshops is truly our passion. Much know and unknown areas of conflict gets resolved during these workshops. Facilitation of an effective team building workshop can only be done by someone who is nurtural and not connected to internal operations of the organization. Facilitation of team building workshops requires motivational speaking skills and advanced MBTI knowledge to establish a safe environment for individuals to open up and share their ideas and insight. The MBTI Team Building workshop is the first step to all of the Strategic Path Group’s Services. Once your team has mastered the basic concepts of Type, they are now ready to subjects like Type and Selling, Type and Strategic Planning, Type and Conflict Resolution, Type and Leadership, and much more.
